100 oz Silver Bar – Johnson Matthey

Johnson Matthey is a large multinational chemicals company that once specialized in precious metals refining and produced retail products for the public. Their operation spread to multiple parts of the world, and their precious metals refining arm eventually centered around North America.

These 100 troy oz pure silver bricks were produced at Johnson Matthey's Salt Lake City (SLC) refinery and are patterned after the vintage “loaf-style” vault bars of the past. These poured specialties haven’t been made since 2014 but were produced in the hundreds of thousands, and many still trade hands on the open market today. Silver bars from this product SKU are selected from available inventory and will arrive in varying secondary market condition.

The obverse side of the 100 oz bar includes Johnson Matthey’s logo stamped at the top, a 100 OZ, a 999 hallmark, and an SLC mint mark stamped towards the bottom. The reverse is intentionally blank.

Johnson Matthey was founded in London in 1817 and is still in operation today, but spun off their gold & silver refining business in a 2015 sale to Asahi Holdings, Inc.
