The Australian Gold Kangaroo is the Perth Mint’s premier gold bullion offering and an exceptionally desirable coin on the international stage. Rebranded as the Australian Gold Kangaroo in 2008, the Gold Kangaroo presents new depictions of the coin’s namesake marsupial and cherished national symbol each year. The reverse of the 2023 Gold Kangaroo features the Ing Ing Jong design of an individual kangaroo standing on the Australian plains, staring across its shoulder. KANGAROO is prominently stamped over the marsupial’s head and shoulders, and a Eucalyptus tree and other local fauna are featured in the background. 2023, 1 oz, 9999 GOLD, and the letter P are stamped around the rim to denote the year of issue, coin weight, gold purity, and the Perth Mint.

The obverse displays the regent side profile of the late Queen Elizabeth II. 100 DOLLARS, AUSTRALIA, and ELIZABETH II are stamped around the rim. A special 1952-2022 mint mark commemorating Elizabeth’s reign is located directly above her crown. The Gold Kangaroo holds a $100 (AUD) face value backed by the Australian government.
